When it comes to growing vegetables, I’m a novice, but I’m enthusiastic, which makes up for something.
Today, the tomatoes are teaching me about parenting and how to respond when our child does something that we didn’t plan for, or didn’t even want them to do.
In this video, you’ll meet the tomato plant that is helping me shift my thinking.
Now that you’ve watched, I’d love to hear from you. What thing has your child done that you didn’t want, or expect? How did you respond?
Put it in the comments below. I read and respond to them!
I think getting curious is a good way to handle a lot of things.
Kristina, yes I agree! Maybe it even works for everything??!
I love how our garden spaces teach us about relationships. Like my garden that grew volunteer tomatillos and melons instead of the carrots and zuchinni I planted. That year everything in my life went totally against my expectations but turned out to still be good fruit.
Or the year I forgot to water until the snails got a rock/shell wedged into our sprinkler valve (total act of God) and reminded me that in addition to praying for rain I can also turn on the sprinklers when it gets dry.
Beautiful lessons from the garden! I love this Licia! We can turn on the sprinklers! We might not get what we planted and that’s okay.
I also have things to say about the melon and the tomatillos in future videos… stay tuned!
