No parent wants to yell at their kids.
Yet, we yell when we get to the end of our rope, we feel like we have no more choices, and we see our child as the enemy.
But how do we stop yelling at our kids?
Last week, we were honored to talk with Dr. Laura Markham about yelling.
Dr. Laura is a clinical psychologist, and the founder of Aha Parenting which reaches 130,000 parents per week. She is the author of the brand new Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids Workbook, that accompanies her earlier book Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids.
She shared with us the “Vow of Yellibacy”–simple, quick steps so that you can stop yelling (with your child’s help!).
She talks about how to do it in this video here.
The “Vow of Yellibacy” is just one small part of Dr. Laura’s new book… the Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids Workbook.
We got a chance to take a sneak peak at the workbook and I already know that it will become a welcome addition to my parenting library.
Dr. Laura has done several things with this workbook…
She talks about HOW to do peaceful parenting, in a great format that is part journal, and part activity guide.
She’s combined research and brain science and made it understandable.
And, as usual, she provides encouraging, warm guidance throughout.
Dr. Laura’s books are like reading and getting a big hug at the same time! :)
We share her mission to change the world, one child at a time by supporting parents.
We believe so much in Dr. Laura’s work that we want to encourage you to pickup her book or ask your library Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids Workbook.
Thank you for bringing light and love to your family, your community, and to the world that we all share.
PS.
We are not getting paid to tell you about Dr. Laura’s book–we do it because we believe her work, her book is one of the best you’ll find anywhere, and we share her mission to make the world a better place!
Great advice from dr. Markham! I’ll try to put it into practice. Thank you!
She’s a gem, isn’t she?
