One of the things I love most about our work, is building relationships with people whom we’ve admired and who have helped us along the way.
Dr. Shefali Tsabary is one of those people.
Talking with Dr. Shefali is like swimming in a mountain lake–it’s crystal clear, beautiful, the water embraces me and also takes my breath away with cold refreshingness (that might not be a word!).
She explains to us why our ego and anxiety get triggered in our parenting, why we naturally want to control our children, and how this desire for control robs parents of the greatest and most exciting opportunity for learning and growth.
At the heart of the conversation Dr. Shefali talks about what it means to parent consciously and to move beyond our ego, our own fears, to truly see who our child is!
Then Jason asked her a question that made her laugh out loud!
Here’s a clip of that conversation.
I agree thank you so much! I sometimes get derailed as the process to become aware of my ego is daunting.. Adam thanks for the book recommendation. Sometimes the actual how to seems evasive..
Socrates and even Lao Tzu, said know theyself. However the modern day M.Rosenberg has a process to go inside and find our true needs.
Meditation, is powerful, however the state of one’s mind must be cleaned first. Check the book, The miracle of MEDITATION by Ryhuo Okawa.
Yes! Yes! Yes! I LOVE Dr. Shefali’s perspective. I resonate so deeply with her words. Thank you for sharing, Cecilia and Jason. I get so much from following you both ❤️
